(Dallas, TX) — Dallas Education Foundation is proud to celebrate the impact of the Baskets of Care: Essentials for Students in Fair Park initiative, led by Tiphanie Sanders-Wright, Resource Center South Manager at Dallas ISD. Generously sponsored by the State Fair of Texas in partnership with the Dallas Education Foundation, this thoughtful effort supports students and families in the Lincoln/Madison feeder pattern by providing baskets filled with essential household items and resources.
Distributed at regular monthly intervals, the baskets help ensure families have consistent and timely access to crucial supplies. Through close collaboration with school staff, the Resource Center identifies students and families within the Lincoln/Madison feeder pattern who may be facing financial challenges, helping connect them with the support they need to thrive.
By helping meet immediate household needs, the initiative reduces stress for families and allows students to focus more fully on their studies and academic success. Baskets of Care contributes to a more equitable educational experience by removing barriers to learning, supporting healthier home environments, and fostering stronger school-family connections across the Fair Park community.
“The State Fair of Texas grant made a meaningful difference in our organization’s work by allowing us to directly address the immediate household needs of students and families we serve,” said Tiphanie Sanders-Wright, Resource Center South Manager. “The funding supported the Baskets of Care project, enabling us to provide essential items such as cleaning and hygiene supplies to families experiencing hardship. This assistance helped reduce stress for families, promote healthier home environments, and strengthen trust between families and the school district. Additionally, the grant enhanced our ability to collaborate with community partners and maximize resources, increasing the overall reach and impact of our services.”
More than a simple gift, each basket represents encouragement, partnership, and a shared investment in student success. Dallas Education Foundation is grateful for leaders like Sanders-Wright, as well as the partners and supporters who continue to make initiatives like this possible. Their work reflects the power of community-centered support and an ongoing commitment to helping Dallas ISD students and families thrive.
