Students at Stevens Park Elementary School have a new reason to celebrate reading, thanks to a book vending machine supported by Atmos Energy in partnership with the Dallas Education Foundation.
The unveiling took place during the school’s Student of the Month celebration, connecting the excitement of choosing a book with a tradition of recognizing student achievement. With parents, grandparents, educators, and community partners in attendance, the ceremony reflected the encouragement surrounding Stevens Park’s young learners.
Students were at the heart of the event, and the people who support them every day recognized their achievements.
The new machine builds on Atmos Energy’s investment in literacy at Stevens Park. After supporting a book fair at the school last year, Atmos Energy is helping bring that excitement to campus throughout the year. The book vending machine will offer a “mini book fair” experience each month, giving students more opportunities to discover stories and build their own home libraries.
By becoming part of the school’s culture of celebration, the machine will serve as a lasting reminder that reading is something to enjoy—and that students’ accomplishments deserve recognition.
The Dallas Education Foundation is grateful for the Atmos Energy team for their continued partnership and commitment to Dallas ISD students. That commitment is approaching another milestone: the next unveiling at TAG in Pleasant Grove will mark 20 Atmos Energy-supported book vending machines in Dallas ISD.
At Stevens Park, this new chapter begins with a community coming together to celebrate its students—and the possibilities waiting inside their next book.
