THE DALLAS EDUCATION FOUNDATION

As the non-profit, philanthropic partner of Dallas ISD, we align with the District’s strategic initiatives and partner with business leaders, residents and philanthropic community to enable economic mobility for our scholars.

WHO WE SERVE

With a mission to educate all students for success, Dallas ISD is considered “one of the nation’s fastest-improving school districts,” per the Council of the Great City Schools.

In recent years, the district has invested in schools and modernized academic programs to prepare students to compete in today’s technology-rich, ever-changing, global society. Yet, the reality is the gap between what public school funding provides and what our students and teachers need is wide and deep.

"The Dallas Education Foundation is changing the lives of generations of kids."

The Dallas Education Foundation serves all 140,000+ Dallas ISD students through the lens of equity, access, inclusion, and belonging.

Early Learning

A quality Pre-K to second grade program is critical to our students’ educational journey. The Dallas Education Foundation works collaboratively with Dallas ISD’s Early Learning department to ensure our youngest students develop curiosity, gain self-confidence, and secure the foundational elements needed as they embark and continue on their educational journey – specifically in reading development.

Literacy

Working in partnership with the Dallas ISD, the Dallas Education Foundation is committed to advancing literacy by developing innovative mechanisms for students to curate home libraries with culturally relevant and engaging books of their choice. By bringing books into students’ homes, we hope to foster a lifelong love of reading and increase family engagement as parents and students read together.

POSTSECONDARY SUCCESS

Dallas ISD is the city’s primary economic mobility engine. The Dallas Education Foundation invests in each of our scholars whether they choose to continue their education or immediately enter the workforce. We create opportunities for our students beyond high school by providing funding for Career-Connected Learning and Career Institutes while simultaneously supporting P-TECH and college-access programs.

"The Dallas Education Foundation is a critical partner and shares our mission of getting our kids to go beyond where they thought was possible."
