about the 2023 Heart of teaching gala

We had an incredible night of fun and fundraising on November 1 at the historic Longhorn Ballroom as we celebrated the HeART of Teaching: Dancing with the Stars of Dallas. Congratulations to the Honorable Jennifer Staubach Gates and Fernando Rocha of Sunset High School on winning the coveted Mirror Ball trophy! It was a night to remember as the Dallas and Dallas ISD community united together all for the benefit of 142,000 Dallas ISD students!

The Dallas Education Foundation would like to express a heartfelt note of gratitude to all who participated and involved themselves to make the evening a huge success, including Honorary Chair Ambassador Ron Kirk, educators and staff from Dallas ISD’s Visual and Performing Arts, Communications, and Maintenance and Facility Services Departments, teachers from campuses across the district, esteemed judges who represent the Arts at its finest, our fabulous emcees for the night, and our city’s Stars who rehearsed and rehearsed to make sure they lit up the dance floor!

The HeART of Teaching: Dancing with the Stars of Dallas was made possible through the generosity of our amazing Host Committee, Sponsors, and silent auction donors. A very special thank you to our named grant sponsors: The Addy Foundation, the Clay Jenkins Family Foundation, Linebarger at Law, and Thompson & Horton. The Dallas Education Foundation is honored to provide a grant to each of our four fine arts disciplines to accelerate student success in your name.

Although the event has passed, you can still support the Dallas Education Foundation’s mission to accelerate student success in Dallas ISD. The 2023 HeART of Teaching annual appeal runs through the last day of December.
