(Dallas, TX) — Dallas Education Foundation (DEF) is proud to support experiences that help students graduate confident, prepared, and ready for what comes next. Recently, Dallas Independent School District (Dallas ISD) Career Institute seniors participated in a Ready for Success workshop centered on the powerful collaboration mindset of “Yes, And.”
Facilitated by Four Day Weekend Comedy and made possible through the generosity of The Addy Foundation, the workshop gave students practical tools they can use in the classroom, in interviews, and in future workplaces—especially when teamwork, communication, and adaptability matter most.
What Students Learned: The Power of “Yes, And”
In improvisation, “Yes, And” is a simple phrase with a big impact:
Yes = listen, acknowledge, and stay open
And = contribute, build, and move forward together
For students, that translates into real-world skills like collaboration, creative problem solving, professionalism, and confidence—skills that support college and career readiness and strengthen pathways to postsecondary success.
