Liza Scholars Gather to Celebrate Graduates and Welcome New Recipients

The Dallas Education Foundation recently joined scholarship recipients, alumni, donors, and supporters at the offices of Farrow-Gillespie Heath Wilmoth LLP for the annual Liza Farrow-Gillespie Intrepid Young Woman Scholarship Reception, an evening dedicated to celebrating achievement, community, and the transformative power of education.

The reception honored two remarkable members of the Liza Scholars family as they graduated from college this spring: Jocelyn Castanon, a graduate of The University of Texas at Austin, and Sritanvi Bulusu, a graduate of Georgetown University. Their accomplishments reflect years of hard work, perseverance, and the lasting impact of scholarship support.

The evening also marked an exciting milestone for three members of the Dallas ISD Class of 2026 who were recently named the newest recipients of the Liza Farrow-Gillespie Scholarship: Hannah Castillo, Emily Munoz, and Candela Zepeda.

Guests gathered for an evening of conversation, connection, and celebration as current scholars, alumni, family members, donors, and community supporters came together to recognize academic success and encourage the next generation of scholars. The reception highlighted the unique community that has grown around the scholarship program, creating opportunities for mentorship, encouragement, and lifelong relationships.

Established through the generosity of the Farrow-Gillespie family, the Liza Farrow-Gillespie Scholarship supports outstanding Dallas ISD students as they pursue higher education and their future career goals. Beyond financial assistance, the program provides students with a network of supporters who are invested in their success throughout their educational journey.

As graduates begin their next chapters and new scholars prepare for the opportunities ahead, the reception served as a powerful reminder of what can happen when students are empowered with the resources, encouragement, and belief they need to thrive.

The Dallas Education Foundation is grateful to Farrow-Gillespie Heath Wilmoth LLP, the Farrow-Gillespie family, and all of the supporters who continue to invest in Dallas ISD students and help create brighter futures through education.
