CTE Summer Learn & Earn Highlights
This summer, Dallas ISD CTE Learn & Earn Camps wrapped up their second year—bigger and better than before! Building on the success of BizCamp, we expanded opportunities with VitalsCamp and TechCamp, giving students more ways to gain hands-on career experiences and real-world learning.
Through the support of USAA, Dallas Education Foundation, and our incredible industry partners—including InterLink, Methodist Health System, SMU Lyle School of Engineering, Dallas College Workforce Center at Redbird, NFTE, and HAKing Innovation—students explored future careers, learned directly from professionals, earned industry-recognized credentials, and even received weekly incentives for their hard work.
From pitching business ideas to shadowing healthcare professionals and coding alongside industry leaders, students not only sharpened their skills but also caught a glimpse of the bright futures that await them.
From our Summer BizCamp, Isaac Estrada and Gael Jimenez emerged as the winning team, impressing judges with their creativity, business acumen, and teamwork. Their victory earned them the honor of representing Dallas ISD at the NFTE Nationals Competition this fall in New York, where they will compete against top young entrepreneurs from across the country. We’re excited to see them showcase the skills, innovation, and determination that helped them rise to the top at BizCamp!
