ALL THROUGH THE LENS OF EQUITY, ACCESS AND INCLUSION
Populations who have been historically marginalized and negatively impacted require a framework of equity-minded education, transformative leadership and community engagement to have an opportunity at sustainable success. The Dallas Education Foundation aligns and collaborates with Dallas ISD’s Racial Equity Office and Teaching & Learning Department to ensure our funding initiatives are viewed and cleared through the lens of equity, access and inclusion.
DRIVING INNOVATIVE PROGRAMMING
The Dallas Education Foundation aligns with Dallas ISD by driving and investing in the District’s innovative programs and transformative work. As a Covid-19 response, the Foundation is actively raising money to support the District’s virtual education offering for the 2020-2021 school year.
In addition, the Dallas Education Foundation, in partnership with Dallas ISD, our community partners and philanthropic donors, has embarked on Project Dream Big, a strategic initiative that leverages Dallas ISD’s current distance learning investment to create a robust, holistic and engaging Virtual Learning Environment. Shifting the educational paradigm, Project Dream Big will be the first of its kind in any urban public school district. Dream big with us.
WORKING TO MEET THE NEEDS OF OUR STUDENTS
Our students’ needs begin before they enter a classroom and continue after they leave. Donations from the Dallas Education Foundation provide for basics such as fresh fruit for our kids and grocery gift cards for their families to must-haves for learning and enrichment, including computing devices, internet hotspots and extra-curricular support. Work with us to help meet the needs of our students.
LIFTING UP OUR TEACHERS
Great teachers change the trajectory of a child’s life. Through the financial support of our philanthropic partners, the Dallas Education Foundation is able to provide:
- Innovative teaching grants
- Teacher wellness programs focused on emotional, physical and mental well-being
- Gift cards to replace classroom supplies destroyed by the October 2019 tornados
In addition, we provide wellness programs focused on emotional, physical and mental well-being for those who suffered through the trauma of the devastating tornadoes in late 2019 and Covid-19. Help us lift our teachers.
ADDING VALUE IN OUR SCHOOLS
Schools serve as homes to our students, teachers and staff. We work with Dallas ISD to add value beyond what district resources are able to provide, including library nooks, additional security measures, an outdoor classroom, athletic equipment, a wellness track, learning aids, signage, and our personal favorite, a photographic canvas storytelling wall.
