The Dallas Education Foundation aligns with Dallas ISD and its strategic initiatives to ensure the greatest impact across all schools districtwide. Populations who have been historically marginalized and negatively impacted require a framework of equity-minded education, transformative leadership, and community engagement to have an opportunity at sustainable success.
Collaborating with the district’s Racial Equity Office, Teaching & Learning, and School Leadership Departments, we ensure our funding initiatives are have cleared the lens of equity, access and inclusion.

WORKING TO MEET THE NEEDS OF OUR STUDENTS
Our students’ needs begin before they enter a classroom and continue after they leave. Donations from the Dallas Education Foundation provide for basics such as fresh fruit for our kids and grocery gift cards for their families to must-haves for learning and enrichment, including computing devices, internet hotspots and specialized programs like I Matter, Words Matter, We Matter which provides culturally authentic texts for read-aloud instruction.

LIFTING UP OUR TEACHERS
“Teachers are the light houses of the community,” says Eric Hale, Texas Teacher of the Year and Dallas ISD educator. We know great teachers change the trajectory of a child’s life. Through the financial support of our philanthropic partners, the Dallas Education Foundation provides our educators:
- Innovative teaching grants
- Teacher wellness programs focused on emotional, physical and mental well-being
- Professional development opportunities

ADDING VALUE IN OUR SCHOOLS
Schools serve as homes to our students, teachers and staff. We work with Dallas ISD to add value beyond what district resources are able to provide, including library nooks, additional security measures, an outdoor classroom, athletic equipment, a wellness track, learning aids, signage, and our personal favorite, a photographic canvas storytelling wall. Additionally, we support the Dallas ISD Maintenance and Facilities team for their tireless work in keeping up with our schools.
